My story

It all began with taking “me” time. I’ve always loved getting lost in nature. Not literally…but that does happen as well. But, getting lost in the beauty, the scent, the peace. I feel both energized and quiet, and it’s hard to put that feeling into words.

I started taking photos of my adventures to share with my family. To show them what I saw, so that they may feel that heady mix of emotions that nothing else seems to evoke. I wanted so badly to have this alone time AND share the adventure.

Then it became a passion. Catching a bird taking off causing ripples in the water, a lone goose in the fog, a gorgeous sunrise over a lighthouse. I started driving 2 hours before daybreak to catch the sunrise at just the right spot. Sometimes, I’d convince people to join me. Other times, I embraced my alone time adventure.

With encouragement from my sister and a dear friend, I started selling my photos at a local art shop. They asked if I could make note cards out of my photography, as cards were one of their biggest sellers. I thought that was a brilliant idea and Note-ably New England was born.

I sold the cards, gave them as gifts to family, friends, and clients, and my appreciation for handwritten connection was invigorated. My curated note card collections and prints now sell online, at craft fairs, and art shops, and I feel so lucky to be sharing the beauty of nature with the world.
